United Wisconsin, organizer of the Walker recall effort, has submitted more than 1 million signatures, nearly twice the number needed to force the recall election.

Upcoming Events:
On February 11, 2011, Governor Walker unveiled his attack on Wisconsin public employees, prompting a series of massive rallies at the State Capitol throughout February and March. The solidarity movement that was born that day has grown larger and stronger over the last year, shifting its focus from massive rallies to grassroots organizing that led to the collection of nearly 2 million signatures forcing upcoming recall elections of Governor Walker and four more Republican state senators (two other Republican state senators were ousted from office in recall elections last summer). Several activities are taking place this month to mark the one-year anniversary of the birth of this movement, providing opportunities to continue to demonstrate our solidarity as we now turn our focus to Get-Out-the-Vote activities throughout the state. Together, we will Relcaim Wisconsin!

RECLAIM WISCONSIN TOUR
The Wisconsin State AFL-CIO and community partners are fueling up The Recall Express and hitting the road to talk with Wisconsinites across the state about the local effect of Gov. Walker’s disastrous agenda.
The “Reclaim Wisconsin Tour” will discuss the impact of Gov. Walker’s policies on working people including the loss of family-sustaining jobs, the loss of employment protections and benefits, the continual transfer of wealth to Wisconsin’s 1% and the hammering of quality public services and education. The Tour will be making stops in Milwaukee, La Crosse, Wausau, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Racine and Madison (see schedule below for dates).
The “Reclaim Wisconsin” Tour will culminate with statewide candlelight vigils on March 9 and a “Reclaim Wisconsin March” in Madison on Saturday, March 10. These events will mark the one year anniversary of when Gov. Walker and Senate Republicans rammed through the collective bargaining bill illegally in the dead of night.
Remaining dates on the Reclaim Wisconsin Tour:
- Wednesday, February 22: Wausau
- Thursday, February 23: Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls
- Monday, February 27: Green Bay
- Monday, March 5: Racine

Here are some guidelines to follow if you are planning public demonstrations or picketing:
- Notify local law enforcement of your plans and make sure you follow whatever reasonable guidelines they request. Better for law enforcement to know what we are doing and why before getting misleading calls from irate neighbors or businesses.
- Make sure you stay on public property and sidewalks.
- Do not obstruct driveways, entrances to businesses, or disrupt traffic on streets. This will guarantee police intervention.
- Have a picketline captain present at all times in charge of maintaining order and all discussions with police or anyone complaining.
- Be vocal but civil and peaceful. The opposition will use any violence to discredit us and divert attention from our message.
- If local law enforcement is imposing unreasonable restrictions designed to prevent the action, politely work your way up the line of authority and if that fails call WEAC Legal.
This is an 11.29 communication with WEAC members and staff.
