Talk to your local Great Schools communicator
or lead organizer and volunteer to participate in Great Schools. Help
is needed in a variety of areas. You can find out who these leaders
are by contacting your local association president or UniServ office
or by checking the list posted on the Great Schools Web site within
OnWEAC at www.weac.org.
Encourage your local association leaders to
work with principals or superintendents on implementing Great Schools.
Emphasize that Great Schools is about Quality, Involvement and Support
for public education. It is about bringing people together and finding
areas of agreement.
Speak out on behalf of great schools. Helping
others see your commitment to providing quality experiences for kids
and openness to public involvement leads to greater support for public
education.

Contact a teacher in your neighborhood school and
volunteer to participate in the Great Schools program. There are many
opportunities, including participating in a School-Community Visions
meeting and serving on work teams.
