| FEA Executive Board Meeting November 14, 2007 Call to Order: 4:32pm by President Sue Mischler Treasurer’s Report – Sandy J. Checking: $21,782.79 CD: $7,521.81 Money Market: $12,971.95 Negotiations Report – Richard G. 1. Much work is getting accomplished. 2. Trust Preferred Plan is being looked at. MOTION – Andy M. (seconded by Kim T.) moves to bring the issue of changing the insurance package to WEA Trust Preferred Plan to a vote at a General Membership meeting. PASSED A General Membership meeting will be scheduled for November 28, 2007, at The Hideaway. 3. A non-precedent setting mid-year retirement was discussed. MOTION – Andy M. (seconded by Paula D.) moves to approve Gary Pfister’s retirement as a non-precedent setting situation. PASSED Legislative Report – Linda R. 1. The State Budget is settled. This will bring $525million to education!! 2. “Great Schools Benefit Everyone” will be the new WEAC campaign. 3. Wisconsin Way forum will be held on November 27 at the Bavarian Inn (7-9pm). People can register online at www.weac.org. 4. NCLB – keep emailing legislators about keeping money in the NCLB programs. 5. Make sure you read Sue Mischler’s emails/attachments regarding the Walgreens prescriptions situation!! Council 10 Report – Marguerite Dargewicz 1. Marguerite updated the Board regarding the October 16th Council 10 meeting. 2. Boycott Walgreens 3. NEA-RA will be held in Washington D.C. this summer (July 1-6, 2008). 4. Winter Conference will be Feb. 22-24, 2008 at the Radisson Paper Valley in Appleton. 5. Leadership Council will be Dec. 11 at 5pm.
Grievance Report – Kim T. Kim updated the Board regarding current grievance situations. Old Business 1. Librarians – documentation update. 2. Powerschool Go-Tos – after workday meetings are not required. 3. Computer EAs – Luann Zielinski will be training. 4. Computer security – will be discussed with IT team. 5. STAR – Survey and discussion were completed. 6. Presession – Admin. will work with FEA to plan. Teachers can send input to Sue Mischler and/or Marguerite Dargewicz. 7. Custodians – Custodial staff still short handed. 8. SWG – data team update. 9. FPMS Vandalism – updated. 10. Grad. Class/PT Conferences conflict – if schedules conflict, contact building principal, Dr. Mueller, or Dr. Patz, who will contact the course instructors if necessary. 11. Book Talks – updated. 12. Unpaid leave – updated. 13. Powerschool – concerns should be forwarded to Mike Zellmer. We are working with new consultants. 14. Dr. Patz is meeting with teachers to hear concerns. New Business 1) Future Executive Board Meetings January 9 BF February 13 RW March 12 CD April 9 FHS May 14 General Membership Meeting (The Hideaway) June 4 Executive Board Dinner (The Rafters) 2) Webmaster Discussion regarding having a webmaster position to post minutes, web notices, and assist with the FEA Directory. MOTION – Paula D. (seconded by Sue S.) moves to create a Webmaster position to be paid a $100 per year stipend. PASSED Sue M. appointed Jill Polglaze to the Webmaster position. 3) TRACE Stipend Discussion regarding increasing the TRACE/Grievance Chair stipend (currently $500). MOTION – Paula D. (seconded by Erin M.) moves to increase the TRACE/Grievance Chair stipend to $1000 per year. PASSED 4) Administrator Survey The Administrator Survey was revised and reviewed. It will be available online for teachers to complete very soon. Building Reports PV: None. RW: None. SWG: None. FPMS: Password for Staff Directory question. Concern with new grading program not providing A+. FHS: None. BF: Report card workday question. CD: Concern regarding timing of elementary Tech Training. Concern regarding more time for report card work. MOTION – Paula D. (seconded by Sherrie N.) moves to approve the minutes. PASSED MOTION – Linda R. (seconded by Michelle K.) moves to adjourn.
