March 4 is RA election filing deadline

Delegates to the 2008 WEAC Representative Assembly will elect two NEA directors (three-year terms beginning September 1, 2008) and one alternate NEA director (one-year term beginning September 1, 2008). RA delegates also will elect a minority guarantee representative to the WEAC Board of Directors. Nominations will be taken from the floor of the RA. The term of office for the minority guarantee representative is three years, beginning September 1, 2008. The WEAC RA is May 2-4, 2008, in Madison. Members Only

February 20 is scholarship deadline

The deadline for applying for the four WEAC Scholarships is February 20 every year. Scholarship winners will receive grants of $1,450 per year for four years of college or university study, if they remain eligible. Read more

Deadline nears for teaching award

You have the opportunity to be nominated by WEAC for the NEA's Foundation for the Improvement of Education (NFIE) Award for Teaching Excellence. Under this program, Wisconsin selects one nominee and submits that person's name to the NFIE. The NFIE then selects six national winners. Read more

2008 WEA Art Showcase planned
The 2008 WEA Art Showcase will be held August 11 through October 30 at the WEA Trust building in Madison (45 Nob Hill Road). The WEA Art Showcase recognizes WEAC artists and allows the WEA Trust and WEAC to purchase and display member art. Read about this and other upcoming events on the Educators' Bulletin Board.
