Bill called attack on educators' benefits

An Assembly committee recommended a bill that would severely restrict the right of educators to bargain their health insurance coverage. The bill prohibits bargaining over the selection of a health care coverage plan if the employer offers to enroll its employees in the local government employers' state plan. Read more

Walgreens withdraws from Trust network

On Thursday, Walgreens withdrew from the pharmacy network that serves WEA Trust health plan members. Walgreens stopped sending in prescriptions for reimbursement on behalf of Trust-insured public school employees and their families. Read more

Be an NEA RA delegate

Any member planning to seek election as a delegate to the 2008 and 2009 NEA conventions is required to file a declaration of candidacy in the office of the WEAC executive director by January 5, 2008. Read more
