'Small districts are going out of business'

Discussions in six separate school districts located in northern Wisconsin have put a spotlight on the severe budget problems brought about by state-imposed revenue caps and other financing factors.

Declining enrollments and a corresponding drop in funding are forcing school boards to consider changing the look of local education. http://www.weac.org/News/2006-07/july07/consolidation.htm

Preparation time is focus of bill

A proposal that would make teacher preparation time a mandatory subject of collective bargaining has been introduced in the State Senate.
