WEAC Winter Conference

WEAC's Winter Conference is March 2-4, 2007, at the Milwaukee Hilton. The Conference will again have a WTCS Track specifically for technical college faculty and staff. The 2007 WTCS Track will include:

  • Judge Jean DiMotto will discuss student and faculty/staff legal issues. Judge DiMotto is well known for her humor and clarity in presenting legal issues to educators. Ron Nief and Tom McBride, the Beloit College creators of the Mindset List, will discuss how intergenerational differences impact teaching and learning at the postsecondary level (tentative).
  • Joe Berry, a part-time faculty activist from the Chicago area, will discuss colleges' increasing use of adjunct and contingent teaching staff.
As in previous years, we may attempt to organize a leadership panel to discuss current WTCS issues.

Registration will open in late October. Total cost for early registrants will be $75 (shared room) or $175 (single room). The cost covers program fees, two nights of lodging at the Milwaukee Hilton and meals on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
