AAS degree changes postponed
The deadline for implementing structural changes to the Associate of Applied Science degrees has been moved to the 2007-08 school year. The WTCS state office cited concerns communicating new information to students and problems related to the treatment of general education courses as significant reasons for delaying implementation. http://www.weac.org/constit/wtcs/techmemo/2005-06/11_21/1.htm Applied technology review falls short
The WTCS state office made public in late September its programmatic review of the applied technology centers at Gateway Technical College (BioCATT and CATI).
Although the review provides important backround information and several useful recommendations, the state office review largely failed to address the most significant issues related to the creation, structure and ongoing operation of Gateway's applied technology centers.

Collegiate transfer programs on fast track
A flurry of recent activity will likely result in technical colleges developing so-called collegiate transfer programs.
Spurred on by potential legislative action, the technical colleges are working to quickly develop a set of procedures that provide for the review, adoption and implementation of collegiate transfer programs. http://www.weac.org/constit/wtcs/techmemo/2005-06/11_21/3.htm
