State ESP Pay vs. 'The Living Wage'
In 2000-01, 10 of 14 job categories of education support professionals
in Wisconsin had average starting wages below the “living wage,”
which is 130% of the federal poverty line for a family of four. The “living
wage” that year was $10.66.
