Budget/Dues Preparation In March the CAUS-North Board of Directors serve as the Budget Committee to review a preliminary draft of the upcoming year's budget. From that draft the Committee discusses line-by-line the budgeted amounts, adding or deleting items, and developing a budget and dues assessment. Board members then take the budget to their local for further review and discussion with the local leadership. Recommendations are brought back to the April Board Meeting. At the April Board meeting the budget and dues assessment are again discussed and revised if necessary. That recommended budget draft is then presented to the CAUS-North Representative Assembly in May. A copy of the budget is sent with their agenda (usually 2 weeks prior to the meeting) so the CAUS-North RA Delegates have a chance to look it over. The CAUS-North Treasurer presents the proposed budget at the May Representative Assembly. RA delegates can make further changes, if necessary, and finalize the budget at that time. The delegates then pass the dues amount to be assessed in the coming year and the PAC (Political Action Contribution) amount. |
