Hedy Eischeid, a curriculum support teacher for the Fond du Lac School District, was elected to the National Education Association (NEA) Board of Directors in 2007.
Eischeid has been a curriculum support teacher in Fond du Lac since 2005, overseeing professional development, integrating technological teaching tools and coordinating and writing REACh (Responsive Education for All Children) and Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) grants. Eischeid also developed and implemented teaching and learning teams for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in the areas of English language arts, mathematics, physical education, world languages and 4-year-old kindergarten. She taught fifth and sixth grade at Evans Elementary School in Fond du Lac from 1991 to 2005.
Since 1996, Eischeid has been president of the Fond du Lac Education Association, advocating for its members and setting its agenda. She also has served on the Negotiations Team, Budget Committee and Public Relations Committee for the association.
Eischeid has been a board member of the Winnebagoland UniServ Council since 1998 and was a member of the Winnebagoland UniServ Executive Committee from 2000 to 2007. Since 2000, Eischeid has been a member of the board of directors for the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC). She also served on the Educational Advisory Board of Marian College from 1997 to 2005.
Eischeid lives in Fond du Lac.
