| Purpose: The Paul Bierbrauer Commemorative Award is created to recognize sustained excellence or innovation in bargaining. Eligibility: WEAC members; Affiliate bargaining teams; Association staff Nomination: Any WEAC member or UEP staff person may submit a nomination. The nomination must be typed on the designated form which is available from the WEAC offices or may be submitted online here. A maximum one-page statement shall accompany the form setting forth the reasons why the nominee warrants consideration. The nomination statement must include a brief description of how the nominee supported local, coordinated bargaining committee and state bargaining goals. Up to three additional one-page letters of support may accompany the nomination form. A copy of local and/or coordinated bargaining committee goals would also be helpful. Criteria: The recipient shall have demonstrated excellence in the area of collective bargaining on behalf of the members. Selection: The WEAC Bargaining Goals Committee may recommend to the WEAC Board of Directors one or more recipient(s) per year. The recipient(s) shall be acknowledged at the WEAC Awards Banquet or other appropriate event. Discussions by the committee will be based on how the nominees met the criteria/goals. |
