Ray Heideman
ESP At Large Director
National Education Association
Ray Heideman, an educational assistant at Tremper High School in Kenosha for 24 years, was elected to the National Education Association (NEA) Board of Directors in 2001 as an Education Support Professional (ESP) at large.
Heideman has shown his commitment to public education through his longtime participation in his local association as well involvement at the state and national levels. He is also game manager for his school, and assistant coach for girls basketball and football.
He has been a member of the NEA Friend of Education Committee since 2004 and has been on the budget committee since 2005. He was vice chair of the NEA Midwest Regional Leadership Conference in 2002.
At the state level, he was an alternate to the Wisconsin Education Association Council (WEAC) Board of Directors for ESP, served on the ESP Committee, was co-chair of WEAC’s ESP Statewide Bargaining Committee and a member of the WEAC Professional Development Academy Board.
As a member of the Kenosha Educational Assistants Association he has served as its president and is a bargaining team member. For the Kenosha Education Association he has served as association representative and treasurer and is currently on the Board of Directors.
He received his bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
