WEAC Summer Academy participants welcomed the new WEAC Leadership Team on August 1, as President Mary Bell, Vice President Guy Costello and Secretary-Treasurer Betsy Kippers began their terms in office.
The 2007 Summer Academy was held at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Stevens Point from Sunday, July 29, to Wednesday, August 1. More than 300 members, leaders, managers, WEAC staff, UniServ staff and WEA Trust leaders and staff attended. The annual event provided in-depth training in the three WEAC Strategic Operating Principles:
Summer Academy is as much about fun and friendship as it is training, and a WEA Trust-sponsored hoedown held on July 31 provided plenty of good times. Members square danced and enjoyed western-themed fare, as well as prizes. New to Summer Academy 2007 was a child care option for participants.
