Bargaining Academy: Bargaining The Better Way -- or -- How to Get Less,
of More of the Same
The Bargaining Academy is scheduled to begin Monday morning and will run through Wednesday noon. It will include two different tracks of training, one each for ESP and teacher negotiators. The topics covered in each track will be identical; however, each track is designed to analyze the unique and special characteristics that impact how the issues are appropriately approached and worked through in ESP or teacher negotiation settings. The ESP and teacher tracks will be combined from time to time over the 2-1/2 day schedule when issues of similar interest/strategy/approach are discussed. One such opportunity is scheduled for Monday afternoon, when full week bargaining track participants will be joined by drive-in participants from around the state, as well as participants from other Summer Conference Academies.
The Bargaining Academy agenda will include discussion and information
about the following:

The Rights Academy will be interactive. You will be asked to listen, to think, to discuss, to share and to act. This academy will stress learning by doing. By sharing the collective experiences, knowledge and expertise of the participants, the increase in our knowledge and expertise for each will far exceed what we could accomplish individually.
