WEAC is honoring media, educators, support staff and others at the annual Awards and Recognition Banquet Thursday evening (October 28, 1999) during the WEAC Convention.
Three Wisconsin news reporters and three high school newspaper advisors are 1999 winners of the WEAC Public Relations Committees School Bell Awards. Newspaper winners are:
School Bell winners did an outstanding job covering public education and bringing issues to the forefront for thoughtful community dialogue, said WEAC President Terry Craney.
In addition, School Bell Awards were presented to three high school newspaper advisors. They are:
These student newspapers covered their schools and public education thoroughly and intelligently, Craney said.
The advisors and students involved demonstrated their dedication to quality public education through involvement and support with these fine publications.
The School Bell Awards are administered by the WEAC Public Relations Committee.
Three education associations are 1999 winners of the WEAC Public Relations Committees Outreach Awards for excellence in public relations activities. They are:
Outreach winners exemplify educators dedication to their students, their schools and their communities, said WEAC president Terry Craney. These projects are shining examples of our members working to ensure quality public schools through member and community involvement and support.
